Native to Japan, Korea, and China, Pittosporum is commonly used as a hedge, where its dramatic foliage color can bring interest to landscapes. Also known as Mock Orange, this is an attractive mounding evergreen shrub with white, gray, and light green foliage that also makes it an excellent choice for use in any border or used as a landscape accent! They are versatile and can blend well with a wide range of designs, so we also like to plant them as a foundation along walls, houses, and fence lines
Pittosporum is easy to care for and able to tolerate urban pollution, so they are a great choice for any urban landscape that could use some color. Once established, these moderate growers require low to moderate water use. Let them grow naturally or shear them annually for a neat and tidy appearance, these shrubs look good either way. Since they are so versatile, they can be planted with a variety of other plants such as Loropetalum, Nandina, Bottlebrush, and Agapanthus.
